Description:

The first part of the course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of biometric technologies so that they are able to understand their functioning in real situations and apply this knowledge in evaluating various solutions based on specific parameters and requirements. Also, the main similarities and differences between biometric technologies and forensic expertise are discussed, focusing on the speaker recognition task. The second part of the course studies the basic aspects of behavioral biometrics, in particular related to a person’s signature and handwriting: principles and concepts related to the authentication of a person based on his signature, signature-recognition algorithms, general and particular writing features, and handwriting examination and identification.
