Multimedia Technologies in Biometrics and Information Security Applications

Study directions

The BIOSINF master programme trains specialist engineers with competencies in the following three major domains:

  • Biometric technologies – methods and techniques regarding human biometric data acquisition, storing and processing, using automated methods, with the purpose of identifying people or identity checking (authentication).
  • Information security – multimedia content security (IP protection and audio-video digital information security), personal computer and network security (risk analysis, cyber-attacks detection and prevention, local and network security solutions, databases and specific programming technologies, etc.)
  • Multimedia forensic expertise – identifying information of interest in audio recordings and checking the authenticity of audio-video recordings, forensic image processing, legal issues related to forensic examination systems and procedures.

The three major areas of competence are interdependent, being connected through the concept of security and at the same time open to top scientific research. Acquired knowledge allows graduates to continue their training in a doctoral program.
